What would happen if you traveled 1 second in to the past?

Wouldn't that end up killing yourself because your body would be in the location of your future body, like entwined atom to atom , see how the past already happened meaning you would be there. Or would your past self have traveled to the past already, or would the 1 second flash of events be to quick for your brain to process and you would just go back to the present which is 1 second away
