How to get new dog to stop peeing in house?

I adopted a 5 year old dog from the pound 2 weeks ago. For a week he was fine, seemed housebroken, no accidents in the house. But this past week, he keeps peeing everywhere! He even does it right in front of me. I chastise him but it doesn't seem to help. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.=)
