Women and engagement rings?

You've pretty much hit the nail on the head about many of the posters on yahoo answers. I get the impression that most people posting on here are extremely young, unestablished in their careers and from a lower socioeconomic background (aka they have no money/savings to speak of). Unless you're trying to have a low budget, DIY wedding on here, don't bother posting any questions because you'll just be told you're materialistic, shallow, selfish, etc. My family is not wealthy. I am, but I work very hard for my money and if I choose to spend my earnings on a large diamond ring for my fiancee and an expensive wedding, so be it. I happen to work in sports management and many of my friends are professional athletes. We live a lifestyle that most people on Yahoo answers have no clue about and expect certain things when we attend events like weddings, parties, etc. Maybe it sounds superficial but whatever. That's the lifestyle that I live, whether yahoo answerers agree with it not.
